New high pressure hose Return line with sleeves
New high pressure hose. Return line with sleeves.
Time for fun with hoses. According to PSC you can use the high pressure hose from a 1987-96 Wrangler (YJ) with the six cylinder. Didn't work on my '98 TJ. The steering box side enters at the wrong angle. But the pump side of the YJ hose is at the right angle.

How brave are you? I sacrificed by stock hose making in a donor in building a new hose. I took my original hose and the YJ hose to CarQuest auto parts and had them merge the two into one. It ended up a bit long, but it works! PSC does supply fittings that you can use to build a your own high pressure line.

In order to protect the return line, I cut sections of the 5/8" hydraulic line that came with the pump and made short sleeves that slipped on over the hose. I had to call a few auto parts stores to find more 5/8" hydraulic line to plumb from the pump to the reservoir. I used a couple of zip ties to hold the sleeves in place.
