| Gray powder coat, 3/16" steel construction and a shape that wraps around the pan and bolts to the block and bell housing. | |
| I have been looking at oil pan skids for a while and settled on this skid from nth Degree Mobility. Unlike other skids it is one piece and bolts up to the engine and bell housing. It offers good protection and accesss to the drain plug in such a way that still allows you to drain the oil without much trouble. I also bought a drain valve to replace the drain plug, but since I had just changed the oil before I got this skid plate it has not been installed, yet. | |

| Passenger side mounting location. | Driver side mounting location. |
| All of the potentially required bolts are provided with the skid for each application. The threads on driver's side location were pretty tight. I followed their suggestion to clean the threads out first. The passenger side was much easier. With the front of skid mounted on these 2 points, it will rotate up into place in front of the transfer case. The 2 long bolts on either side of the inspection plate will hold the back of the skid in place. | |

| Temporarily remove this bolt. | And shave this ridge off both sides. |
| When I rotated the rear of the plate up to the bell housing the fun began. There was one more bolt in the way, but that was easily removed and there would be room to reinstall it after. But the back of the skid came right up to the inspection plate on the bell housing. It would not go up into place because of the ridges on the plate. The pictures on their web site and the instructions indicate that the plate doesn't come that close and you will need some washers between the skid and the bolts on the bell housing. Maybe you will on your rig, but not on mine. I had to shave down those ridges and that took some time. | |
