Rubicon Trail Jeep Jamboree

Posted Rating: Difficult
Review Date: 2006 / 2007

The Rubicon Trail was an overwhelming event. So much so that I didn't spend a lot of time looking for and photographing the local flowers and animals. Maybe it was because it was the middle of summer, but I don't recall any notable wildflowers. And I am sure that the size of our group scared away any and all critters that were nearby. I know there is plenty of good trout fishing on the local lakes, and I expect there would be bears and deer in the area, too, however we didn't see any sign of either.

While we camped in the Rubicon Springs Campground, we did see a little bit of wildlife enjoying the sunshine. I caught a picture of this lizard basking on the rocks while we drank a few cold ones. And we all got to watch some youngsters that were brave enough to use the rope swing to dive into the pond.
